In the special location of Officina Vanvitelli, within the complex that was once the Royal Factory of San Leucio in Caserta and is now a university campus, Demit Days was held this week, days of meeting and discussion between the faculty and the more than one hundred doctoral students of the Doctorate of National Interest in Design for Made in Italy: a unique reality, managed by the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli,” which sees the presence of numerous Italian universities, many of which are also active in the Cluster.
On that occasion, President Alberto Bassi, and among others also the chairman of our Scientific and Training Committee Pietro Pantano, who followed the work, argued the need and importance for the two realities of PhD and Cluster to increase their convergence on many research topics as well as design and communication operations. This is an intention that has seen wide consensus and interest from the faculty, starting with PhD coordinator Alessandra Cirafici.
In addition, scientific initiatives are being defined in order to enhance and make better known, particularly to the system of companies and institutions, the unique potential at the level of national bodies and networks, as well as to intervene on highly topical issues such as those related to the fate of Made in Italy and the role of design culture in the contemporary world.
